Worship... Our very highest priority is to worship God, to touch His heart with our words, thoughts, acts and sounds of love. Though worship is a gift to God, we recognize that we are also blessed and changed in the giving as we encounter our Creator and stand in His presence. Our worship must be real, a time of self-disclosure and repentance as we experience His holiness and seek to deepen our relationship with Him. Bible... As it is the only objective word from God, we highly esteem the Bible as our primary source for guidance and for understanding God and ourselves. As it is the only standard given by God, we place ourselves and all our knowledge under its authority. As it is the only inerrant word of God, we confidently trust in all its truths and promises. We value expository teaching, with an emphasis on doing and experiencing; it is our instruction for relating to God and to one another. Fellowship... Going beyond socializing and informal get-togethers, fellowship is a lifestyle of sharing our love to one another. It is learning to be intimate and transparent with one another... kinship groups are the vehicles we use to facilitate this sharing lifestyle. They are the place where we can be cared for, loved, healed and can grow into maturity as Christians. Ministry... not reserved for the elite few, but a part of every believer's life. We believe that every Christian is called to minister through the works of Jesus. We rely not on our own efforts and knowledge, but on the power of the Spirit. We recognize our battle is a spiritual one, and therefore our weapons must be supernatural to be effective. Training... a commitment to making disciples of those who have accepted the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the New Testament, a disciple was a student who bound his life with his master's, to not only learn his teaching but to produce his lifestyle. Simply put, we desire to become like our Master, Jesus Christ, in both word and deed, training others to do so as well. Therefore, our training will be equipping rather than simply educating; being formed rather than simply informed; practical rather than simply theoretical. Our training will be fore the whole church so that each person can learn to minister in the calling which he/she has received. The thrust of all training will be to apply the Word of God in our daily experience, to be doers and not hearers only.
Sending... the early church grew by sending out from the local congregation those who were called and anointed to minister. As individuals grown in the relationship with Jesus and mature, we will be faithful to bless, anoint and release those called to begin new areas of ministry to further the advance of the Kingdom of God. |
